Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sync my data across devices?
Enable iCloud sync in Settings β†’ iCloud Sync. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID on all devices and have iCloud Drive enabled. Your focus sessions will automatically sync across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro.
Can I use Focalify without an internet connection?
Yes! Focalify works completely offline. All your session data is stored locally on your device. Internet is only required for iCloud sync if you enable that feature.
How do I customize timer durations?
Go to Settings β†’ Default Durations to set your preferred session and break lengths. You can also customize durations when starting a new session by tapping the duration field.
What's the difference between session types?
Session types (Focus, Study, Work, Break, Meditation) help you categorize your activities. They don't affect timer functionality but help organize your statistics and history. Choose the type that best describes your current activity.
How does Pomodoro mode work?
Enable Pomodoro mode in Settings. When active, the app will automatically alternate between work sessions (default 25 minutes) and break sessions (default 5 minutes). After completing a session, you'll get a notification to start your break.
Can I export my session data?
Yes! Go to Settings β†’ Data Management β†’ Export Data. You can export your session history as a CSV file for analysis in spreadsheet applications.
How do I add the widget to my home screen?
Long press on your iPhone or iPad home screen β†’ tap the '+' icon β†’ search for 'Focalify' β†’ choose your preferred widget size β†’ tap 'Add Widget'. The widget shows your active session progress and daily statistics.
Is my data private and secure?
Absolutely. All your data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, data is stored in your private iCloud containerβ€”we cannot access it. We don't use analytics, tracking, or third-party services. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Does Focalify work on Vision Pro?
Yes! Focalify has a native visionOS app with an immersive mode for distraction-free focus. Launch the app on Vision Pro and tap the immersive mode button to enter a spatial environment designed for deep work.
How do I delete a session?
In the History tab, swipe left on any session and tap 'Delete'. To delete all data, go to Settings β†’ Data Management β†’ Clear All Data.

Troubleshooting

☁️iCloud Sync Not Working

If your sessions aren't syncing across devices, try these steps:

Solution:

  1. Check that you're signed in with the same Apple ID on all devices
  2. Verify iCloud Drive is enabled in Settings β†’ [Your Name] β†’ iCloud
  3. Make sure Focalify has iCloud permission in Settings β†’ Focalify β†’ iCloud
  4. Try toggling iCloud Sync off and on in the app settings
  5. Force quit the app and reopen it on all devices
  6. Check your iCloud storageβ€”you may need to free up space

If you're not receiving session completion notifications:

Solution:

  1. Go to iOS Settings β†’ Notifications β†’ Focalify
  2. Ensure 'Allow Notifications' is enabled
  3. Check that notification style is set to 'Banners' or 'Alerts'
  4. Verify Focus mode isn't blocking Focalify notifications
  5. In the Focalify app, go to Settings and enable notification sounds

⌚Apple Watch App Issues

If the Apple Watch app isn't working properly:

Solution:

  1. Make sure you have watchOS 10.0 or later installed
  2. Check that Focalify is installed on your Watch (Watch app β†’ My Watch β†’ Focalify)
  3. Try force quitting the app on both iPhone and Watch
  4. Restart your Apple Watch
  5. Re-pair your Watch with your iPhone if issues persist

🎨Widget Not Updating

If your home screen widget shows outdated information:

Solution:

  1. Remove the widget and add it again
  2. Force quit the Focalify app and restart it
  3. Restart your iPhone or iPad
  4. Check that Background App Refresh is enabled for Focalify in iOS Settings
  5. Ensure Low Power Mode isn't preventing widget updates

⚠️App Crashes or Freezes

If Focalify is crashing or becoming unresponsive:

Solution:

  1. Force quit the app and reopen it
  2. Restart your device
  3. Check for app updates in the App Store
  4. Try deleting and reinstalling the app (your data will be preserved if iCloud sync is enabled)
  5. Free up device storage if you're running low
  6. Contact support with your device model and iOS version if crashes persist
