Clear terms for a focused app.

1. Agreement

Focalify (the “App”) is provided by Rui Hu. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these supplemental Terms of Use (“Terms”). Your App Store license is governed by Apple’s Standard EULA; these Terms supplement it and do not replace it. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction continue to apply. If you cannot legally accept these Terms, a parent or legal guardian must do so for you.

2. The service

Focalify is a focus timer and productivity app for supported iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro devices. Features can include customizable session types and durations, Pomodoro cycles, timer styles, goals, statistics, awards, searchable history, notes, Siri and Shortcuts support, iPhone Live Activities, Mac controls, and automatic iCloud sync when available.

Feature availability can vary by device, operating-system version, permissions, language, region, and App version. The in-App interface describes the features available on your device.

3. License

Subject to these Terms, Apple’s Standard EULA, and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal or internal-business productivity, and other lawful purposes, on Apple devices that you own or control.

You may not:

• Copy, sell, rent, redistribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App except as law permits
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code except where applicable law allows it
• Remove proprietary notices or use the App to violate another person’s rights
• Interfere with the App, Apple services, or security controls

4. No account; your data

Focalify does not require a developer-operated account. You are responsible for your device, Apple Account, backups, and the information you enter into the App. You retain your rights in session titles, tags, notes, and other content you create.

Supported data is stored locally and, when iCloud is available, in your private iCloud container. You can export or import completed session records as JSON. You can also search, rename, annotate, repeat, and delete individual sessions using the controls provided by the App. See the Privacy Policy for more information.

5. App Store and Apple services

These Terms are between you and Rui Hu, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them once you accept them.

Apple services used by the App—including the App Store, iCloud, CloudKit, Siri, Shortcuts, notifications, and ActivityKit—are governed by Apple’s own terms, policies, availability, and technical limits.

6. Availability, updates, and changes

The App may be updated to add, change, or remove features, address security or compatibility issues, or meet legal and platform requirements. Some updates may be required to continue using certain features. The App may not always be available in every region or on every device.

7. Notifications and productivity information

Timers, statistics, streaks, awards, productivity scores, and completion notifications are provided for general productivity support. They are not professional, medical, health, financial, or legal advice. You remain responsible for verifying time-sensitive work and for using the App safely.

8. Intellectual property

The App, its design, software, branding, and original content are owned by Rui Hu or licensed to Rui Hu and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of that intellectual property to you. Third-party and open-source components remain governed by their own licenses.

9. Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Focalify does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect accuracy, successful synchronization, preservation of data, or compatibility with every device or future operating-system version. Any warranties that cannot legally be excluded remain in effect.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, productivity, revenue, goodwill, or use arising from the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount required by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

11. Ending use

You may stop using Focalify at any time and delete the App. Your license under these Terms ends if you materially breach them. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including intellectual-property, disclaimer, and limitation provisions—continue after termination.

12. Severability and mandatory rights

Nothing in these Terms overrides mandatory consumer protections or rights in your place of residence. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

13. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated when the App, platform requirements, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date will change when revised Terms are published. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
